Helios is a multi-domain AI research and engineering company, founded in 2026 and domiciled in Delaware. It develops advanced algorithms across several fields — with particular depth in finance — and holds a portfolio of pending patents covering novel architectures for next-generation artificial intelligence. The firm does not train foundation models; it composes existing models into disciplined systems — with memory, accountability, and the capacity to decline — that are more reliable than any single model alone. Its first system operates continuously in live deployment.
Helios follows an IP-first model: advancing foundational work in private, protecting outcomes through patents and trade secrets, licensing selectively to research and commercial partners, and delivering its technology as a hosted service rather than distributed software.

Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Dominic Newman is the founder of Helios Strategic Innovations.
He grew up in Johannesburg, later lived in Ireland, and came to the United States in 2019. He earned a BS in Business & Global Affairs from Georgetown University, studying across the McDonough School of Business and the School of Foreign Service, and began his career in finance — first in asset management, later in sales and trading — with a period in Shanghai working on cross-border business development, where he became fluent in Mandarin.
He has worked seriously with frontier AI systems since November 2022 and formed a clear view of both their capability and their limits. The limits interested him more. Models forget across long tasks. They drift from what they were asked. They answer confidently in situations where the honest response is to stop and ask. These aren't problems that scale resolves, because they follow from what the systems lack: durable memory, an internal sense of where they are in a task, and any means of declining to act.
He founded Helios in 2026 to build and protect the architecture that addresses them. He is the sole inventor of the firm's patent portfolio, which he developed and ran in live deployment before filing. Prosecution is underway in the United States and internationally. Helios follows an IP-first model: it protects its work through patents and trade secrets, licenses selectively, and delivers its technology as a hosted service rather than distributed software.
